Press release: "During the first six months of 2007, Democratic party committees that file disclosure reports with the Federal Election Commission (FEC or the Commission) raised $111.5 million and spent $67.7 million. Democrats increased their fundraising by 29% over 2005 totals between January 1 and June 30. When compared to the same period in 2003, the last presidential cycle, the Democrats showed a 98% increase in federal receipts,. Republican party committees raised $108.8 million and spent $87.1 million. This represents a 24% decline in receipts for when compared to the same period in 2005 and a 22% decline when compared the same period in 2003."
