Judge James Todd sentenced Davis to 57 months in prison - four years and nine months - on each count. Davis will serve those terms concurrently, meaning at the same time.
"Your honor, I stand here today ashamed and embarrassed," Davis, 64, told Todd. "Not a day goes by when I don't think about how to repay those people. I can't say that enough. I am so sorry."
Davis represented District 79, comprised of Gibson County and parts of Carroll County, as a Democrat in the state House of Representatives from 1979 to 1992. He ran again in 2002 but lost in the primary.
