Step away from the the barbershop

Politicians do NOT create jobs but they sure can make it difficult for the employees and employers who actually do create jobs.

There should be a law...that every time a new law is passed, two old laws have to be eliminated.

One state representative hopes a rule governing barbershops will soon be sleeping with the fishes.

State Rep. Ty Cobb said he is sponsoring a bill that would change a regulation barring fish in barbershops after receiving a complaint from one of his constituents.

“I don’t think we should be that picky on a woman who is not only employing herself but other people,” the Columbia Democrat said.

Lori Corbin, owner of Hamilton Barbershop, was informed by a state inspector that she could not keep fish at her business when she opened three years ago. Corbin’s shop is in a strip mall between Columbia and Mt. Pleasant.
