John Tanner, taxpayers trained him so now he can earn the big bucks

He left each citizen $43,000 in debt and now he will probably be making a cool million a year. And people ask why we regard politicians as low life weasels.

The move reunites Tanner with his former chief of staff, Vickie Walling, who is a managing director at Prime Policy Group.

Tanner was widely viewed as one of the top prospects for K Street when he announced in December that he was retiring from Congress after 11 terms. Headhunters and hiring partners at firms speculated that he could command a salary north of $1 million, although Prime Policy Group did not disclose the terms of his deal.
