Johnson City dismissed half of Red Light appeals

Red light cameras are an insult to due process and common sense and they need to go.

Since the controversial, but so far crash-reducing, cameras went online last spring, 265 vehicle owners have decided to challenge their citations. Of that number, not all followed through with their plans. But for those who did, 59 were dismissed and 53 were found guilty.

That ratio played out Wednesday, despite the small numbers.
