First Latino Tea Party President in San Antonio

Rodriguez said his biggest priority will be to grow the tea party's presence and influence in San Antonio.

"I'm going to be speaking to the Hispanic community, telling them that they need to become more conservative and understand the conservative issues," Rodriguez said.
The San Antonio Tea Party was established with a rally at Alamo Plaza in February 2009. The national tea party made waves during the 2010 election, with upset victories in two senate races, and one gubernatorial race.

The tea party advocates for limiting the role of government and reducing burdens on taxpayers, Rodriguez said.
